You think she is generally unhappy or just upset that I took her picture while she was stuffing herself with sweet bread?
There are so many interesting faces in Taiwan that I would love to record; not everyone likes to have their picture taken, myself included, so often you get some scowls like on the ladies face above. Perhaps it's best to ask first but then I wouldn't get to witness moments like this.
I use Google to aggregate daily news headlines and usually one of the general topics I watch is Taiwan. I'm not sure exactly why I bother as about 90% of all the news that gets translated into English is either about military purchases, relations with China, or tech. exports. You get none of the silliness that permeates the local press. But today one report sneaked into the Google pile from the Times of India, apparently there is a yoga craze among Taiwan's youth.
"Faced with increasing drug abuse and sex-related problems, the youth in Taiwan have taken recourse to yoga for solace. Swami Adhyatamanandji, renowned yoga guru and founder of Shivanand Ashram, said this on his return from a two-week educational tour of Taiwan where he conducted a series of demonstrations and seminars on yoga. "
I can't imagine what "sex related problems" are plaguing Taiwan's youth (don't you love these sweeping statements) but I don't really have my finger on the pulse of what is happening with kids here.
The above photo was taken on a hot day in Taipei.
