I'm a big fan of Chinese lanterns. This one can be found in a small temple in downtown Hsinchu, the same temple that holds one of the few Chinese play performances that can been seen here with any regularity (except for large funded performances). It's a small place surrounded by the tall unimaginative buildings of the area. For the life of me I cannot remember the exact street it is on but Hsinchu being a small place, any walk through the narrow downtown streets should bring you to it.... eventually.

Wierd, I actually did come across this place just yesterday (at least I think I did, it looks right.) I bet could never find it again though, I was completely lost at the time.
