This photo was taken as part of an ethnographic enquiry at an old folks home in rural Taiwan. The stories the people told were touching and sometimes rather sad. Connecting with these people was extremely rewarding. Seeing the facilities in which they lived was not. By western standards the facility was fine but if you have ever visited an old folks home that isn't saying much.
