A close up of some flowers at a temple in the peace park in Taipei. This arrangement is very much like what I saw here in Hsinchu but when asked if there was some significance to the flowers chosen I was told there was not. I was in Taipei setting up my tangible music interface, near the Presidents office, for an industry exhibition of some sort. Walking through the peace park nearby I found this splash of colour. The difference between Taipei and Hsinchu can sometimes be quite striking. Naturally the environment is quite different - it's much more developed and approaching the level of other large cities you might visit in the region - but on this day I was struck by how happy and friendly the people are. Everyone were smiling and seemed to be having a good time. A couple ladies came up to say hello with one offering some fruit. I can't remember the last time I noticed this in Hsinchu - you almost get the impression that no one is happy here and certainly few if any would ever say hello (in context with what I witnessed yesterday).
This photograph is all about the color and in that sense is as abstract as most of what I show on this site.
