Yet more seagulls on the beach at our Canoe Cove cottage taken this summer past.
One of the reasons for going home during this period was to attend my 20th high school anniversary. I didn't actually make it to any of the social events which meant missing some of the usual antics that occur during these parties; people drunk saying and doing questionable things. I really tend to be shy or introverted, at least socially. I'm not really sure how to describe it but it takes me a long time to "warm up" to talking to people; especially strangers or those I don't see often. If that makes any sense at all. I did spend some time with some old friends from those days. It's wonderful to reconnect and catch up.
There are quite a few others I wanted to meet while I was home but propensity towards being the quiet one interfered her as well. I did manage to introduce myself to Peter Rukavina at a local Taiwanese restaurant. I have followed his work and read his weblog for some time and thought it would be interesting to meet in person this online persona. As an indication of just how boring I am, after introducing myself, I sent an email to him asking if I could buy him a coffee or lunch. He never responded.
