It's been about 3 weeks since I returned to Taiwan from Prince Edward Island. I miss home and the people there. Though the relentless cycle of constant sweating from the heat and freezing from the air conditioning is starting to wear me down, I'm starting to become acclimatized. I've already had a late night encounter with one of the local spiders that lurk about in the house. There is something undesirable about meeting one of these monsters at 1am and hearing them scamper across the floor. Yes they are big enough that you can hear them walking but luckily most of the time they walk away from you.
I have a trip to Singapore this week which I scheduled simply because I thought I would need an onward ticket when I arrived in Taiwan. I have strange visa issues. Unfortunately I was told there is a typhoon somewhere near here that may hit on the day I am supposed to fly. That may delay things. Singapore should provide some fun photo opportunities and I plan to continue onward from there to Malaysia, a place I have never been. The Orchard hotel in Singapore might be a good start, though a bit on the expensive side I enjoyed my stay there the last time I visited Singapore.
This photo is another of part of a series I took of the back fields that comprised the old family homestead.
