I managed to spend a morning at Brackley Beach, one of the Island's national parks, before a mass of dark clouds rolled in bringing rain and colder temperatures. Getting there early in the morning also meant beating the required entry fee of $7CAN which though sounding quite reasonable to me seems to annoy those who live on the Island all year round. I'm sure there is logic to their argument that access should be free to those who pay taxes but it seems like a small price to pay to help maintain such a beautiful area.
I wonder what the tourists would think about a double standard? Free for locals but a fee for tourists. I know at many of Thailand's National Parks there exists a dual pricing scheme, one for locals and one for farang. It hasn't bother me too much but I know the dual pricing scheme causes some consternation to those few who live in Thailand year round.
This particular photo was shot with my Canon S100. Though old the design of this camera still makes it a joy to use - it's not the best in low light - you can notice some inaccurate colour in the sand. It was getting pretty cloud at this point.

Hi there:
I just want to know what type of camera are you using? Digi one or SLR? Do you have to adjust the color before you paste those pictures online?
Thanks,
Erica

I have a few lomos which I use semi-regularly (lately quite a bit), an older Canon slr, a Canon digital elph, and a Canon 350d. I'm happy with my Canon 350d body at the moment but wish I had better lenses than I do.
I do very little color correction to my images. I do adjust some of the values using curves to compensate for poor light - to brighten it up a bit. This particular shot was taken with my digital elph and I brighten it a bit. You can see the noise on the beach extending through the water into the sky as a result.
