I took more photographs of my mother this trip than in all the years prior. It drove her crazy. This photo was taken at our cottage in Canoe Cove.
I count myself lucky to be able at my age to have a good relationship with my mother. Though I still lack the wisdom to follow, it's wonderful to have someone of her experience to rely on for advice. Since having a child of my own I've come to realize my mother's sheer fortitude. Her gray hair is no doubt a result of me. My mother raised me essentially alone while working as a Producer for CBC. The stress of her career and somehow successfully raising a rebelling teenager is something as time passes I appreciate more .
