A flock of seagulls congregates on the beach just down from the cottage on Canoe Cove. I haven't taken many photographs of this type of subject in the past so I thought I would experiment with trying to capture the birds as they flew off the ground. As most of my photography is either of a very urban theme or of Catriona I really can't judge the results.
The weather on PEI has taken a turn to the cold and wet. It's much like I envision England's weather, which I have only visited once, unpredictable and at times gloomy. But even at it's darkest the skies are brighter and cleaner than you could ever hope to see in Taiwan.
There are a couple aspects of being home that are taking some getting used to. The first is the traffic, people here will actually slow down and allow you to cross the street. the exhibit a genuine caring for your well-being. That sounds ridiculous until you spend time in Taiwan where you learn to trust no drivers intentions. The other is the genuine friendly nature of the people. I had strangers waving and saying hello. This is likely more indicative of the small size of PEI than any other reason but it certainly is refreshing. Being that friendly in Taiwan would be tiring as you might meet 1,000 people when you go out to buy groceries.
