Dry goods store 2. Hsinchu, Taiwan

A dry goods store in the same old market in Hsinchu city that the previous butcher shop photograph is located.

I have through much of my life been spared from any kind of chronic pain. I've been blessed until today. My body is sending me a signal, a signal that tells me I can't sit in a chair day after day staring at a flat panel in some kind of contorted posture. I'm not old but I'm not 20 either. This morning I woke up with the most wicked upper back pain imaginable making any initial movement a tear invoking experience. I'll take this warning to heart (though I am sitting here writing this instead of getting outside to stretch) and start doing some basic exercises again. Perhaps some stretches throughout the day might help.

One tip I can give you now is this. If you are going to use Tiger balm or other heating rub to try and reduce muscle pain, be sure to wash you hands thoroughly afterwards. I had an itchy eye. You can imagine how it felt after rubbing it with my hand that still had hot rub on it.

It's election time in Taiwan again and Michael Turton has a great collection of advertising pictures. Definitely a worthy destination.

This looks like the market we go to almost every Sunday. We've been going to this market for the past ten years. It seems like markets like these are slowly withering away, probably because of the big hypermarts and everyone being busier.
