When I decided to post this photo I was trying to decide if I liked it more the same subject I shot in my last entry. There is something I like about the colour of the building. Though concrete, like everything else here, it's colour has gotten warmer. I like it but the other shot is better I think.
I haven't been able to escape from Hsinchu these past few weeks and with no income I may be stuck here for awhile (You could hire me or send me on some photography excursion). So sitting here day in and day I have started to feel a great deal of jealousy towards a fellow Canadian who recently left Taiwan to tour China. Her name is Leslie and she is a graduate of Computer Science at UBC in Vancouver. She backpacked around SE Asia for 5 months in 2003, and then taught English in Yuanlin, Taiwan for two years after that. Now she is currently backpacking through China until around Christmas time, when she will return back to reality in Canada (partially paraphrased from her site). The photos she is taking on her journey are sometimes stunning and always interesting. Her site is certainly worth a visit.
PS. I like this paragraph in her site:
"My quest in photography is to show different aspects of culture. People photography is my favorite, but I also enjoy trying to capture unique shots of temples, landscapes, and everyday life. That said, I don't know what I'm going to do once I return to North America, the land of bland culture and uptight people. "
I'm sure she will come to appreciate bland Canadiana by the time she returns.

Hello Chris,
I like the other shot better. I like the additional detail from the red bricks and the small green plant.
