I finally decided on Saturday to get out of my cramped quarters and get some exercise. Back home we would say go out and get some fresh air but that doesn't quite fit here. The easiest place to go, perhaps the only place right in the city, and walk is 18 point mountain. It's a great green space connected somewhere with Tsing Hua University which has a great park system as well. If you are interested in sweating off some pounds 18 point mountain is a good choice as their are long paved walk ways that continuously go up and brutal set of stairs that make for a wonderful "Rocky I" moment.
I wasn't running nor was I going to attempt to run up the steep stairs. I did get off the paved walkway and take a very short hike through the trees on a dirt path. It was here where I almost walked into the monster in the picture above. The photo really doesn't do justice to it's sheer size. I could have sworn it even hissed at me.
I posted a few different shots on my flickr stream.
