Cameron Road. Hong Kong, China

I went to Hong Kong over the weekend for a short and totally unplanned visit. Other than using Hong Kong International Airport it has been about 4 years since I have spent any time there. Since returning to Taiwan I have been feeling more than a bit claustrophobic, I needed to get away again, and amazingly enough I always find traveling, cheaper and easier, outside of Taiwan.

My habit of just booking a ticket, packing a small bag, and going usually proves to be a great deal of fun. I did that this time but forgot just how busy Hong Kong can be. I arrived in Hong Kong after trying unsuccessfully to book a room the night before and finding out that all hotels were booked for the night. It was 8pm. Luckily I stayed at a small guesthouse for the night and found space at the Ramada the next evening.

I had hoped to walk all day Sunday, taking my time exploring, and photographing everything I found of interest. The weather had other plans though, as it was a dark rainy day unfit for a poorly skilled photographer like myself. I did enjoy myself and managed to average four meals a day. The food is worth a trip to Hong Kong itself.

I stayed on and near Cameron street where this photograph was taken.
