Catriona 15. Hsinchu, Taiwan

Of the literally thousands of photographs I have taken of my daughter Catriona a great deal of them are similar to this. I like the abstract nature of getting close and studying someone who is so beautiful. Her hands are beautiful, her feet are beautiful, as are her knees. Few people seem to appreciate these kind of photos, which I suppose is quite natural as most people want to see her face; see if she is happy or sad. They want to see how she has grown and be a part of her life. I think beauty such as hers needs to appreciated up close. Is there anything more beautiful than your own daughter?

She was eating cake in this photo on her 2nd birthday - for her eating cake is a hands-on interactive event.
