This is the last in this series of Catriona hamming it up for the camera. She is my favourite subject.
Today we are seeing the start of this seasons largest "super-typhoon". It's going to hit the north of Taiwan pretty hard tonight and tomorrow with winds blowing upwards of 300 kph. It is not a time to be walking outside obviously.
My first month here many years ago I made the naive mistake of going for a walk during a typhoon. The neighbourhood I lived in was quite sheltered from the wind so I thought the worst was over until I went to the main road and saw huge pieces of wood constantly flying down the road. No cows or buses ala Hollywood though.
Looking at the sky as I went out to stalk up on food I was checking to see if the wind was blowing toward the storm. It was my Tom Cruise moment. Hopefully there won't be any creatures coming out the ground to decimate the earth.
I pray we all make it through this one.
